Heading Down the East Coast

After several glorious, sun-filled days at Swimcart Beach Laurie, the weather guru, discerned that we'd better head further south as it was forecast to become wet up north.

Our first port of call was the Chain of Lagoons where we camped for one night only as the "Chain" is actually a large swamp and there was an abundance of mosquitoes. Next stop about 30kms further on was Bicheno where we spent two nights camped in a paddock owned by Mark who has the surf shop in town.  We really appreciated his generosity and enjoyed the lovely ocean views from our camp site.
En route to the next campsite we spent a few hours in the town of Swansea with it's lovely old buildings and picturesque harbour.
This is the view from our campsite at Mayfield Bay a really delightful camping spot right on the water and opposite Freycinet National Park (a really beautiful spot but unfortunately 'No Dogs Allowed')

Laurie, Timmy & Skye enjoy a brisk stroll along the beach.
