Berry to Sydney

Berry is one of those rare finds. First settled in 1825 it's set amongst rolling green hills and planted with Oaks, Elms and Beech Trees … a charming picturesque town.
The town is famous for its cafes, antiques and boutique shopping.  Of course we had to evaluate some of the cafes and visited Grapefruit Cafe - extremely doggy friendly within the rear courtyard and Just Delicious - a Cafe/Deli - both are to be recommended.

Berry has historical buildings with, green gardens, many art galleries, gift shops and a market held on the first Sunday of each month. Prices seem to be very reasonable as there is a lot of competition amongst the shops.
We stayed in the Berry Showgrounds - $15 per night with power - a lovely treed setting within very easy walking distance of the town
Friends from the CMCA forum - Terry and Margaret (and their faithful Combi) stayed overnight on their way south.
Onwards again - to Sydney - we're staying in the St Ives Showgrounds - a fabulous spot - $20 per night for a powered site, toilets and showers are available, also water.  The showgrounds cover a large area (around 50ha) mostly covered by natural bushland and trees and bordering Ku-rin-gai Chase National Park.  There are 2 large fully fenced off-lead dog walking/training areas, as well as walks in the bushland.
Wednesday was a special day for Laurie - her birthday! We had a celebratory lunch at the Flying Fox Cafe on Pittwater - delicious - we shared 3 plates - salt and pepper squid with fresh finely chopped tomata and herb salad with a lemon caper dressing; slow roasted baby beetroot, pear, walnuts and Soignen goats cheese salad with a white balsamic vinaigrette; and, naughty, naughty, a bowl of chips served with a roast garlic and rosemary aoili - YUM

Canberra

Well we're now down in Canberra for a few days - staying at the Exhibition Park (like showgrounds) - lovely setting with trees but close to the city.  It's been extremely windy today and apparently snowing at Cooma, just down the road - we've had the heater on all day [hence all the YouTube videos - I'm sitting inside browsing around the internet :-) ]

Pam, from Cobram, who's on a 2 year trip is also here - she's doing some research at the Australian War Memorial, it's been good to catch up with her again.

Nambucca Heads

We're slowly tacking down south - bit of inland, bit of coast - this week we've met up with Vanda again at Nambucca Heads for a few days
Doing a bit of beach driving
