Just had a visit from the repairer - apparently the fuel pump has a number of things wrong with it, timing controller failed and some other parts worn - going to cost $4,300. There isn't really any other option other than to go ahead and get it done. Just need to look at it like ongoing maintenance, it's just unfortunate that in the past 2 months will have spent $10,000.
Found a great MP3 mat (Homedics), it has massage feature, also heat. When it's plugged into the Ipod or laptop, you can lie there having a lovely massage whilst listening to music or watching a DVD - Danni just loves it.
